MWV Stage Works 2560x1448px

MWV StageWorks is a two-week (July 6-17, 2026), collaborative theater experience that brings together multiple School to Career camps around one shared goal: producing a live performance.

Students enroll in a focused camp — from acting and performance to set design, construction, costume and makeup, or photography — and see how their skills contribute to a real production. With support and collaboration from The Barnstormers Theatre, students gain behind-the-scenes exposure to professional theater and the many creative and technical careers that make it possible.

This summer’s camps will culminate with a performance of Seussical the Musical!

3D Design Camp: Set Design and Prototypes

In this hands-on 3D Design Camp, campers use digital modeling and 3D printing to design set pieces, props, and scenic elements that support the StageWorks theater production. Students brainstorm, sketch, model, and prototype creative designs while building spatial thinking, problem-solving, and technical skills. This camp is perfect for curious makers and innovators of all skill levels who want to see how digital design turns imagination into reality behind the scenes.

Construction Camp: Stagecraft

Build the world of the show from the ground up in this hands-on Construction Camp. Campers work as part of a production build crew, constructing set pieces and props that bring the StageWorks theater production to life while developing core woodworking and tool-use skills. In addition to theater-based builds, students also participate in a Habitat for Humanity project, connecting their hands-on work to real-world construction, community service, and skilled trade pathways.

Photography Camp: Production Marketing & Visual Storytelling

Capture the story behind the scenes and under the lights in this hands-on Photography and Media Camp. Campers learn the basics of photography while documenting the full StageWorks process — from early builds and rehearsals to final performances. Students also explore graphic design as they help create promotional images and marketing materials for the production, gaining experience in visual storytelling and media creation.

StageWorks: Ensemble (Grades 6–10)

StageWorks: Junior Ensemble (Grades 1–5)

This is a second two-week (July 20-31, 2026) camp for young actors, there are no supporting camps.

Hannah-Jo Weisberg invites younger students into the magic of theater in this playful performance camp. Campers learn lines, movement, and basic stage skills while rehearsing and performing as part of a full production. With support from older StageWorks performers, it’s their turn to take the stage and build confidence, creativity, and teamwork.
