MWV StageWorks is a collaborative theater experience that brings together multiple School to Career camps around one shared goal: producing a live performance.

Students enroll in a focused camp — from acting and performance to set design, construction, costume and makeup, or photography — and see how their skills contribute to a real production. With support and collaboration from The Barnstormers Theatre, students gain behind-the-scenes exposure to professional theater and the many creative and technical careers that make it possible.

This summer’s camps will culminate with a performance of Seussical the Musical!

MWV StageWorks: Ensemble

Performers are at the heart of this two-week MWVStageWorks production. This year, students will bring Seussical the Musical to life as they learn acting techniques, rehearse scenes, and work as an ensemble toward a full public performance. Throughout the session, campers develop confidence, collaboration skills, and stage presence while preparing a complete theatrical production.

Construction Camp MWVSW

MWV StageWorks: Construction Camp

Campers have the option of choosing to attend week 1 (July 6-10), week 2 (July 13-17), or the full 2 weeks (July 6-10 & July 13-17). In this camp, campers work as part of a production build crew, constructing set pieces and props that bring the StageWorks theater production to life! Through the experience students will develop core woodworking and tool-use skills. In addition to theater-based builds, students also participate in a Habitat for Humanity project, connecting their hands-on work to real-world construction, community service, and skilled trade pathways.

Campers have the option of choosing to attend week 1 (July 6-10), week 2 (July 13-17), or the full 2 weeks (July 6-10 & July 13-17). This hands-on camp teaches the fundamentals of digital photography, visual storytelling, and creative media design. Campers learn framing, lighting, composition, editing, and how to communicate a story through images.

As part of the MWV StageWorks theater project, students document rehearsals and behind-the-scenes moments while helping create promotional images and marketing materials for the production. Camper’s work will be showcased as part of the final production. Equipment and software provided.

MWV StageWorks: Junior Ensemble

Led by Hannah-Jo Weisberg, this two-week camp is the junior version of the full StageWorks production of Seussical the Musical that audiences saw performed the week before.

With the set already established and the production framework in place, younger performers step into a ready-made theatrical world where they can focus fully on acting, movement, and character development. Campers learn lines, stage presence, and ensemble skills while rehearsing and performing their own version of the show. The emphasis is on expressive performance, confidence-building, and collaboration in a supportive environment designed especially for younger actors.
